Georgie White (he/him)

Co-Founder and Director of Queers of the North

Georgie is an experienced digital marketing specialist and community organiser. Working for a major international development charity, he specialises in driving social impact through authentic storytelling and global alumni engagement. With a strong background in the voluntary sector, he brings experience in grassroots leadership, having co-founded the National Youth Engagement Network (NYEN UK) with duties including brand development and partnerships. As the Co-Founder of Queers of the North, he channels his passion and lived experience as a gay man into uplifting LGBTQIA+ culture and building community spaces.

Sami Rose (he/him)

Co-Founder and Director of Queers of the North

Sami is the co-owner of Brew & Bind, a popular queer-owned coffee shop and bookshop in Monkseaton. Passionate about creating welcoming and inclusive spaces, Sami is committed to bringing people together through community, creativity, and connection. As a trans man, they are driven by a desire to make meaningful change, champion LGBTQIA+ voices, and help build a North East where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported. Through Queers of the North and Brew & Bind, Sami works to create opportunities for connection, celebrate queer culture, and strengthen community across the region.
